A Letter to the Editor of the Stanley Promoter

Letter to the editor: Stanley Promoter

I want to congratulate the founders and organizers of Christian Crossroads Academy for their efforts to bring Christian educational opportunities to our area.

As someone who personally benefited from Christian education, I understand the importance of these efforts. My parents, Alvin and Margaret Lindahl, made tremendous sacrifices to ensure I received a quality private education. I attended Christian school from kindergarten through sixth grade, and those formative years helped shape my values, discipline, and worldview in meaningful ways.

Communities grow stronger when they offer families a variety of educational opportunities. People moving to an area look for diversity in goods, services, and institutions. Families also have different priorities for their children. Some emphasize athletics, some music, some academics, and others place a strong emphasis on theology and faith-based education. A healthy community recognizes that families are not all looking for the same thing.

From a community development standpoint, variety matters. Expanding educational offerings helps attract and retain quality community members, which every town desires. Small communities must continually work to remain vibrant and competitive. When communities fail to grow and diversify, they risk gradual decline over time.

For that reason, I commend the organizers of Christian Crossroads Academy for stepping forward to create another valuable option for local families. Building something meaningful takes courage, sacrifice, and perseverance. I wish the school, its leadership, and its future students continued success in the years ahead.

Sincerely,

Dennis A. Lindahl
